Yes. The rollout of Viasat broadband service is a major milestone in a process that began in 2008 when Viasat started construction on its next-generation satellite system, representing the most significant capacity leap in the history of satellite technology. The system used the breakthrough ViaSat-1 satellite that was launched in October 2011 to offer higher speed. Now. With ViaSat -2 we now have more capacity than the rest of the communications satellites over North America combined, and is designed to serve over a million subscribers. ViaSat -2 allows us to offer you unlimited data on most plans and even faster speeds! ViaSat-3 is already in production so will continue to see even greater improvements in the next couple of years.
Many video streaming services and sites will detect your internet speed and set the video quality appropriately.
However, there may be times when you will want to manually change the video quality to better match the speed of your unlimited plan. The following links provide instructions for adjusting video quality on a number of popular streaming services:

Yes. As a valued current customer, we want to offer you an opportunity to upgrade to our Viasat satellite service. We are offering a Priority Upgrade Program for our current customers. We expect to begin our upgrade installations in April of 2018. The upgrade will require a brand new satellite dish and modem which will be installed and configured by a certified technician, and the new service requires a fee to get started. Please call us at 1-866-567-1919 so we can fill you in on all the details, including applicable upgrade fees.
We remain dedicated to providing high quality service for customers who wish to continue their WildBlue service.
Internet chat services, even HD video chat, such as Skype and FaceTime, generally perform well.
If internet gaming is important, satellite internet is probably not a good choice for you due to latency.
Northland Connect will bill you one month in-advance, using SmartHub. There is no paper bill mailed to your home. A credit card is needed to sign-up, or you can choose to have Northland Connect debit your checking account instead of your credit card.
People sometimes have questions when it comes to electronic and paper records. Many people won’t think twice about handing their credit card (with the security code prominently displayed on the back) to a high-school-aged waitress. Similarly, they may have no problem leaving their credit card bills and checks in their mailbox for hours or even days. But if you ask them to use paperless billing or online bill pay, they’ll refuse because they’re concerned about security. The fact is with electronic payments you are not only better protected but it is easier to make regular payments and you will receive less mail. That’s right – electronic bill pay is safer and has become the standard for most businesses.
Anything you routinely use the internet for – banking, shopping, homework, streaming music and video, downloading files, social media, checking news, sports, and weather. Do everything you love, and more of it.
We recommend picking the service plan that best fits your video viewing habits, desired speed and budget. You can always upgrade!
Viasat will work with some, not all, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). If you need to use a VPN, before you call, please collect as much information as possible about your VPN, ideally in a format that can be emailed to us, and we’ll find the answer for you.
On an unlimited data plan, there are no limits to how much data you can use during your monthly billing cycle. On the Unlimited Bronze, Silver, and Gold service plans, after 40, 60, or 100 GB of data usage, respectively, we may prioritize your data behind other customers during network congestion.
When the network is not busy, nothing will happen to your service speeds. When the network is busy, and you have used more data than the amount stated for your service plan, Northland Connect may prioritize your data behind other customers, which will result in slower speeds. Web pages and videos may respond and load more slowly than during periods of non-congestion.
Viasat Internet parts carry a 2-year limited warranty. Service Calls are covered for the first 90 days of service. Service Plans for extended coverage are available on this website.
